BLKCORAL website launch by Juli Sproules

In VERY exciting news, the website for BLKCORAL has been launched!

For those of you that don't like to read, just head on over to www.blkcoral.com & check it out.  For those of you who want a little history & information ... read on:

Nikole Nelson & I have known each other since our days at the illustrious Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD), where we were roommates, friends and co-conspirators!  Since then, Nikole & I have collaborated regularly, especially when she launched her New York City-based Nikole Nelson Studios.  After moving back to her native Hawaii (she's from Maui), she took a chance to re-energize & re-brand her now-Honolulu-based enterprise to reflect both her urban NYC experience and her natural Hawaiian roots.

In focusing on collaboration, BLKCORAL brings together a unique blend of creative energies & vision; as well as specializing in both concept and creation.  It really is a unique enterprise!

Thanks for checking it out!

FOX Architects team with Vornado to create the spec suite of the future by Juli Sproules

FOX was invited to build a prototype spec suite in an otherwise unassuming office building in Crystal City - one of the many recently vacated by government tenants. Challenged with creating a workplace that was an innovative, smart & flexible, the design focuses on collaboration (both within the office & with other locations) and flexibility - ideal for start-ups & satellite offices.

Be sure to check out FOX's contribution to Vornado's DesignLab contest. Click away for some of the press!

"The Interiority Complex" by Juli Sproules

And here it is, folks ... the best explanation of our profession I've heard yet, from Gem Barton, over at Archetizer ...

An interior architect with good training can fully appreciate and instigate the passage of utility and human interaction through studies, charts, and mapping, making precise predictions and choreographing the light, the access, and the materiality to achieve the desired goals.

FOX Architects designs HON's new DC Showroom by Juli Sproules

Some of my wonderful colleagues just wrapped up construction on HON's new DC showroom & it looks fantastic!  Inspired by L'Enfant's plan of the city, the showroom is housed around a central "monumental square" that is a flexible, multi-use space that can accommodate large groups of visitors in various settings.
